The Vitamin D3 supplement is recommended in cases of an increased need for this vitamin or in cases of dietary deficiencies. It helps support the normal functioning of the immune system.

THE BENEFITS OF VITAMIN D3

FIGHTS OSTEOPOROSIS

Osteoporosis is caused by long-term calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency that affects the integrity of the skeletal system. Restoring proper vitamin D3 levels allows us to restore optimal calcium levels in different areas of the body: in the bones, vitamin D stimulates calcium reabsorption, thereby increasing bone density; in the kidneys, vitamin D helps calcium be absorbed from the urine into the blood; in the intestines, vitamin D increases systemic calcium absorption.

INCREASES WEAK IMMUNE DEFENSES

Vitamin D plays an important role in supporting the body's immune defenses. An European-wide study, carried out in research laboratories at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, has shown that T-cells, which are the main players in the immune system, have receptors for vitamin D recognition: receptor-vitamin D interaction is essential for the T-cells to recognize invaders and carry out their protective action.

DIMINISHES ACNE AND PSORIASIS

Although excessive sun exposure is the main cause of our skin aging (photo-aging), the sun is also our main source of vitamin D3, and this vitamin plays a crucial antioxidant role in keeping our skin healthy. The vitamin has been shown to play an important role in the treatment of acne and psoriasis.

ENHANCES POSITIVE MOOD

There are seasonal changes in mood: increased anxiety and depression have been found to occur during the winter months. It has been suggested that this seasonal effect may be due to changes in vitamin D3 levels, which are lower in the winter when exposure to sunlight is reduced. The decrease in vitamin D3 appears to be associated with changes in levels of the feel-good neurotransmitter, serotonin. which is essential for maintaining a good mood.

LESSENS PHYSICAL STRESS

Vitamin D is often not thought of as the main supplement for increasing physical performance. Yet, since the turn of the last century, research studies have been conducted that highlight the critical role vitamin D plays in athletic performance. In 2009, every vitamin D-deficient player belonging to an ice hockey team, the "Chicago Blackhawks" (a team that regularly lost season after season), was given a 5000 IU vitamin D supplement. In 2010, the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.

Ingredients

Maltodextrins, bulking agent: cellulose, food-grade gelatin capsule, vitamin D (cholecalciferol), anti-caking agents: magnesium salts of fatty acids and silicon dioxide. Vitamin D3

Vitamin D

A fat-soluble vitamin that comes in two main forms: D2 and D3. Both are absorbed and can increase levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D, the hormone-active form of vitamin D.

Vitamin D3

This naturally synthesized ingredient mimics skin exposed to sunlight. This is the most effective way to independently produce optimal levels of vitamin D for the body's well-being. Another way to get vitamin D is through food: it is found in certain animal products, such as cod liver oil, and, in other fatty fish in small amounts, such as herring, mackerel, sardines, and tuna; there are also small amounts of it present in dairy products, eggs and leafy green vegetables. It plays many roles in the body, all of which are important including regulation of calcium and phosphorus levels, has an anti-inflammatory effect, supports the immune system, and is beneficial for people who suffer from changes in mood, especially during the winter. When our diet is not balanced and sun exposure is limited, it can be beneficial to get more vitamin D through supplements, given the many roles it plays in the body.

RESULTS

VITAMINA D3 IN DETAIL

Vitamina D is directly produced in our bodies through exposure to sunlight, which works to change inactive forms into active forms. It can also be acquired through food like meat and fish and in lower amounts in vegetables. Once in the body, it can perform many functions: from supporting healthy bones and teeth, to helping our immune, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, as well as our skin, vision, and even improving mood and states of anxiety and depression. A deficiency of it, due to dietary imbalances, poor sun exposure, or increased natural requirements, may be reflected in the whole body, and in such a case its supplementation through nutraceutical supplements is advisable.
